FitC PLUS: Plan for peace of mind

Deciding to age in place.

According to an AARP survey, 87% of respondents prefer to remain in their own homes and communities as they grow older. The decision to age in place can be gratifying and enjoyable…but it can also afford some challenges for both individuals and their family members.

  • Did you know that 70% of us will require additional services to stay in our homes as we age?
  • Are you prepared? Are your loved ones?
  • Would you know what to do if you had fallen and needed help while you recuperate?
  • If a parent needs help administering medications? What if you needed someone to go along to a doctor or dentist’s visit?

At home ...with support.

FitC focuses on ability, not disability, offering support for your continued independence. FitC PLUS offers a further dimension to our desire to age in place. FitC PLUS is designed to be an extension of FitC. There are NO health or age requirements for joining; any FitC member is eligible.

You or a loved one may also choose to hire a personal care manager to assess your needs and create a plan of care. The Navigation Help Desk can refer you to one.

The Nitty-Gritty

FitC PLUS is not a health insurance program; however, it offers a full range of services beyond the scope of medical care. It provides a single point of contact for FitC PLUS members--as well as their family and friends. A single number to call to access both professional guidance on appropriate assistance options and support in selecting and arranging those services.

  • Even if you have long-term care insurance, you will still need help to find the services you require. FitC PLUS can complement your long-term care insurance.
  • If you don’t have long-term care insurance, FitC PLUS can serve as a practical, low-cost option.
  • FitC PLUS services are vetted and discounted. You receive up-front pricing information for the services you choose.
  • An annual FitC PLUS fee of $175 provides access to whatever services you may need.

The following case studies help demonstrate just how valuable FitC PLUS can be....

Following a bad fall, Roseann felt helpless. Her out-of-state daughter contacted the Navigation Help Desk and was referred to a personal care manager. Both mother and daughter were relieved of worry about meals, medications, doctor appointments, and more.
When Miriam’s 92-year old husband was no longer able to reliably keep up with the couple’s finances, she reached out to the Navigation Help Desk. Soon an hourly service was retained to work alongside her husband to ensure that everything was copacetic.
When a series of TIAs (mini-strokes) left 85-year-old Ben with limited mobility, a call to the Navigation Help Desk quickly put him in touch with someone to plan, order, and prepare his meals.
