FitC Planned and Hosted Events

Every month, FitC members typically plan, coordinate and host fifteen to twenty-five events.

These events appeal to a wide range of interests and preferences but groups are kept small to facilitate camaraderie. Many of our events fill up early but we offer waitlists and frequently reschedule particularly popular events. Some events are open to members only, others are available to interested non-members.

UPenn Museum, Museum of the American Revolution, the National Constitution Center, American Jewish History Museum, Mutter Museum, the Barnes Foundation, African American Museum, the Brandywine Museum.

Theater, music & dance performances

Fool for Love at EgoPo, Measure for Measure at Lantern Theater Company, Philadelphia Chamber Ensemble at Old Pine Church, Fine Art Music at Ethical Society, Philadelphia Boys Choir.

Educational lectures & discussions

Tyler Arboretum, Cynwyd Trail walk, Mt. Cuba, Bartram's Garden, Schuylkill Valley Nature Center, John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge, Schuylkill Trail walk. 

Informative sessions on maintaining health

Understanding Stroke, Understanding 'Medicare for All,' Understanding Memory, Trends in Medication (from a geriatrician), Finding Reliable Medical Information.

Socializing over food & drink

Small group lunches at diverse restaurants in or near Center City, topical brown bag lunches, lunches before Met Opera HD performances, local brewery tastings, FitC Sips happy hours.
