Wildlife photos at Art Museum thru September 17

“Wild,” a collection of photographs by Michael Nichols and others at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, is notable for large, sharp photos of animals, mostly in intense color, as well as a video of selected action clips from various wildlife photographers. This exhibition illustrates what is possible to photograph if you are willing to endure heat, cold, wet, snow, flies, climbing, camouflage, charging animals, and waiting. Some extreme close-up and night photos were taken with remote cameras with infrared sensors. Animals in a variety of locations include lions, tigers, and elephants in various reserves in Africa, owls in giant sequoias in the Sierra National Park, and bears in Yellowstone. The animals are majestic, lovable, funny, and sad. Do not miss the video! On view till September 17.
